Public Advocate Gotbaum on Governor Paterson's Directive to Recognize Gay Marriages

Public Advocate Gotbaum said, "As a long-time proponent of the freedom to marry, I commend Governor Paterson's leadership on this issue, which brings us one step closer to our goal: marriage equality for all. This sends a strong message to all New Yorkers, and the country, that the right to marry is fundamental, and sexual orientation is not a legitimate basis for denying legal rights."
